Dear Friends of StepUp:
It is important for you to know that StepUp Greensboro is operating according to the state’s current guidelines. We are in unprecedented times due to the Covid-19 pandemic and StepUp Greensboro is committed to offering support to individuals in our community who seek employment. We have resumed operations as follows:
Character Development classes are being conducted on Mondays for Women and Wednesdays for Men, following social distancing and meeting guidelines. Life Skills is also meeting weekly via Zoom and the team is evaluating when it will be safe to have everyone in for face-to-face meetings. Finally, our first Job Readiness class since March was held the week of July 7th. The next class is scheduled for July 27th through 30th.
Our team is keenly aware of the number of people unemployed in Guilford County and we stand ready to help. We are working with Guilford Child Development, Salvation Army, United Way, Probation and Parole, our faith partners, and Greensboro Urban Ministry to provide jobs training and job leads to help individuals find employment. StepUp is also working to expand our employer partners so that as associates graduate from Jobs classes they have choices for gainful employment.
On behalf of the Staff and StepUp Greensboro Board of Directors, thank you for your contributions and support of our mission to Motivate, Empower and Equip the unemployed and underemployed within our community.
Mark P. Painley, Board Chair
